On Saturday July 31, 2010 we came through with the band to play a show in London at the Children’s Museum for the Grickel Festival.
The venue felt like something from ‘Alice in wonderland’ with strangely decorated rooms, cool lighting and a wandering crowd who curiously lurked around the museum with drinks in hand looking for a wide variety of sights and sounds.
Dj Serious had the crowd vibin’ early as we led into a 40 minute set that got the indie rockers grooving, dancing and singing. After the set I snuck down to catch the end of the Balconie’s set which was catchy and melodic and they had tons of stage energy. A dope way to end the festival.

In the midst of our hottest summer yet, I compiled a mix that caters to the long bouts of loafting and ‘nothing doing’ often attributed to humidex and no A/C. The rolling greenhouse that is your car in traffic at high noon. Deal with it. Walmart and Zellers are sold out of electric fans. Bummer. Cones and Popsicles have a shorter shelf life in the sun. Finish it quick.
At least you have something to listen to.
Mind you, Toronto barely cracked 30 degrees all of last year, so take what you can get, people.

Miles Jones (Mojo/Urbnet) releases the second video off the album Runaway Jones for the song “Rhyme Like This” featuring Bronx, New York MC Percee P (Stones Throw). The video directed by Isaac Cravit, was shot in Los Angeles and encompasses what it’s like to spend a day on Venice Beach.
Miles waves peace to a high-energy Talib Kweli crowd at the Sound Academy June 5th in Toronto. The show was Hip-Hop night for the books as Miles, Dj Serious and Drummer Maxwell Roach set the stage for a fierce hour and half set by legendary group ‘Reflection Eternal’.
